Entrance examinations for international students are administered in accordance with University regulations for international students wishing to attend the university.

Notes:
  1. Only the faculties and departments listed above are accepting applications from international students.
  2. The following applicants are expected to acquire one of qualifications(460 points or more TOEFL-PBT, 48 points or more TOEFL- iBT, 500 points or more TOEIC) before admission to Aichi University.
    ・Who apply to general entrance examinations of Department of English Studies, Faculty of International Communication.
    ・Who apply to pre-arrival examinations of Department of Global Liberal Arts, Faculty of International Communication.
  3. Each Student's department, course, major of study within Faculty of Letters is determined according to grades and their wishes after enrollment.
  4. Faculty of Regional Policy should choose a course (Public Policy·Regional Economy·Community Development and Regional Culture·Health and Sports·Food, Agriculture and Environment) at the time of application. Each student’s course of study within their faculty except for Regional Policy is determined after enrollment.
  5. Aichi Junior College accepts only female students.

3. Application Requirements


Examination with recommendation for International Students

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

  1. Applicants must have foreign citizenship and have completed 12 years of education in a foreign country (including students who will complete their school education/who are expected to complete their school education by March 31, 2024). Applicants can otherwise be a person selected by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology that suits the criteria or can be a person that has academic ability above high school level which has been examined by our school.
  2. Applicants must be capable of obtaining student status following admission under Japan’s Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act. Applicants who have either the status of residence term "Permanent Resident" as provided in the "Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act" or the status of residence term "Special Permanent Resident" as provided in the "Special Act on the Immigration Control of, Inter Alia, Those who have Lost Japanese Nationality Pursuant to the Treaty of Peace with Japan" are not eligible to take examinations.
  3. Applicants must be enrolled at a Japanese school in Japan (Excluding Postsecondary course in Specialized Training college) and must be on track to complete the curriculum in which they are enrolled by March 31, 2024.
  4. Applicants must not apply for enrollment at any other universities while their application to Aichi University is being considered.
  5. Applicants must have one of the following Japanese language skills. In both case, limited to a person who has passed the examination after June, 2022.
    ・210 points or more of the「Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) (Japanese as a foreign language)」(except writing) administered by Japan student services Organization (JASSO).
    ・“Japanese Language Proficiency Test “N1 (90 points or more) or N2 (100 points or more) sponsored by The Japan Foundation and Japan Educational Exchanges and Services (JEES).
  6. Applicants must have a letter of recommendation from a representative of the school in which they are currently enrolled.
  7. Applicants must be capable of defraying tuition and living costs from the time of their enrollment until their graduation.

 Note:
Prospective applicants who are not able to complete the curriculum by March 31, 2024 will be denied their entrance qualification to Aichi University even after receiving their acceptance letters.


General Entrance Examinations for International Students


Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

  1. Applicants must have foreign citizenship and have completed 12 years of education in a foreign country (including students who will complete their school education/who are expected to complete their school education by March 31, 2024). Applicants can otherwise be a person selected by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology that suits the criteria or can be a person that has academic ability above high school level which has been examined by our school.
  2. Applicants must be capable of obtaining student status following admission under Japan’s Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Law.
  3. Applicants must have taken the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (Japanese as a Foreign Language) (EJU) administered by the Japan Student Services Organization in either 2022 or 2023.
  4. Applicants must be capable of defraying tuition and living costs from the time of their enrollment until their graduation.

Pre-arrival Entrance Examinations for International Students


Aichi University’s pre-arrival entrance examination program allows applicants to complete the application process without coming to Japan. Under this program, residents of countries other than Japan can take the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) offered by the Japan Student Services Organization outside Japan, enabling them to forego travel to Japan until they enroll.

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

  1. Applicants must reside outside Japan at the time of application.
  2. Applicants must have foreign citizenship and have completed 12 years of education in a foreign country (including students who will complete their school education/ who are expected to complete by March 31, 2024). Applicants can otherwise be a person selected by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology that suits the criteria or can be a person that has academic ability above high school level which has been examined by our school.
  3. Applicants must be capable of obtaining student status following admission under Japan’s Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Law.
  4. Applicants must have taken the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students ("Japanese as a Foreign Language" and "Japan and the World") (EJU) administered by the Japan Student Services Organization in either 2022 or 2023.
  5. Applicants must be capable of defraying tuition and living costs from the time of their enrollment until their graduation.

Applicants will be evaluated comprehensively based on the results of the screening process described above and their scores on the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (Japanese) (EJU). However over 60 points will be needed in the interview for business administration and international communication departments to pass this examination.

*1 The EJU test is converted from a point scale of 400 points to 100 points.
*2 Applicants for the Department of English Studies, Faculty of International Communication, will have an interview in English to check their English proficiency.

Applicants will be evaluated comprehensively based on their application documents, their scores on the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students ("Japanese as a Foreign Language" and "Japan and the World") (EJU), and their general academic record.
※We may use online tools to confirm the applicants’ Japanese proficiency. (Date: Friday, January 12, 2024 Japan time) We will inform to eligible person separately.

Notes:
  1. Please use a black ballpoint pen for all documents. Do not use a pencil or a pen with erasable ink.
  2. Please double-cross out (with double line) any errors or mistakes. Do not use whiteout or correction tape on the form.
  3. Please separate Student application form (A) from Guide to admission for international students and arrange all required documents in above order.
  4. All certificates must be issued within 6 months of the date of application.
  5. We will not accept any documents if there is a document shortage or an error.
  6. Submitted documents will not be returned.
  7. Additional documents can be requested for submission as necessary.
  8. In the case of falsifications in the application documents, applicants will lose their eligibility to take the entrance examination and will not be accepted into Aichi University even after receiving their acceptance letters.
