The Institute of International Affairs of Aichi University investigates the dramatic changes in world affairs, particularly those in Asia. Although the object of research is general international affairs, there is a special focus on the trends in modern China, and also neighboring countries in Northeast and Southeast Asia. Emphasizing research activities focusing on Northeast Asia, the Institute contributes to mutual understanding between Japan and China by recording the developments in China today.

TOPICS

The Institute issues the Journal of International Affairs two or three times a year and publishes a series of fully fledged research studies. It also organizes various research meetings and lectures involving overseas researchers and has published The Chinese Political and Economics Dictionary as one of its activities. The Institute has a library of over 70,000 volumes. The amount of China-related material is amongst the largest in Japan.
